All programs are free and open to the public. The Pease Library (site of Chapter programs) has ample parking and is handicapped accessible.

Where: Little Round Top Hawk Watch in Bristol

What: Field Trip - "Hawks on Little Round Top " led by John Williams
- Forester and Birder John Williams will lead us in observing hawks. A fifteen minute walk to the top. Meet at the Sidewalk Cafe, 4 Pleasant St. in Bristol. Take Rt. 3A or Rt 104 to town center. Bring a folding chair, binoculars, scope (optional), water and rain gear if necessary.

What: Chapter Program: "Exploring the Great Outdoors " by Scott Fitzpatrick
- Co-host of New Hampshire Public Radio's "Something Wild", Director the NH Audubon's Prescott Center, environmental educator and naturalist, Scott Fitzpatrick will provide an entertaining presentation on how best to enjoy the outdoors. Scott has produced countless programs for people of all ages bringing excitement and enthusiasm to their experience of nature.

Chapter Program: Loons on Squam Lake

What: Chapter Program: "Loons on Squam Lake" by Joe Kabat
-
Joe Kabat will bring a video presentation illustrating the life of the Common Loon on the Squam Lakes over the past five years. Joe is a member fo the Loon Preservation Committee Board and is co-chair of their Technical Committee. He has been observing loons in Michigan, Ontario, North Carolina, Florida and New Hampshire for over 60 years. Loons on the Squam Lakes have declined 44% in the past four years. Perhaps by the time Joe speaks on October 9 will have a good report of the Common Loon chicks surviving on the Squam Lakes this season.

Field Trip to Pondicherry NWR

Where: Jefferson NH ... but meet in Plymouth to car pool

What: Field Trip to Pondicherry NWR, An Important Bird Area
-
A mile and a half walk into the Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge targeting rare species of birds and migrating waterfowl. The return trip will be via the town of Monroe with a possible sighting of a Sandhill Crane. October is a wonderful time of the year - no bugs! We will meet at the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce kiosk in MacDonald's parking lot at 7:30 AM. Bring good walking shoes, binoculars, and clothing appropriate to the weather. John Williams will be our guide.
